George Washington University Hospital (GWUH): 385-bed tertiary care hospital, featuring a Level 1 Trauma CenterCancer CenterOrgan Transplant ProgramComprehensive Stroke CenterLevel 4 Epilepsy Center and Level IIIB NICU.  GWUH’s mission is to provide the highest quality healthcare, advanced technology and world class service to our patients in an academic medical center dedicated to education and research. It is recognized as one of the top hospitals in the region.  The majority of the residency rotations are at this hospital.


Breast Imaging & Intervention Center

Breast Imaging & Intervention Center at the GW Comprehensive Breast Center: The Breast Center provides multi-disciplinary breast care services for the early detection, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer using state-of-the-art technologies. Radiologists at the on-site imaging center provide complete imaging and diagnostic services, including 2D and 3D mammography, breast ultrasound, breast MRI, molecular breast imaging, stereotactic, ultrasound and MR-guided biopsies.  The Center is a few blocks from the hospital at 2300 M St NW.


GW Imaging Center at K Street

GW Imaging Center at K Street: This outpatient imaging center located at 2121 K ST NW, just a few blocks from GWUH provides a broad array of imaging services, including radiography, sonography, CT, and MRI.  Senior residents rotate through the center, working alongside GW faculty, to experience a more typical “outpatient private practice” radiology setting.


GW Imaging Center at 19th Street

GW Imaging Center at 19th Street: This outpatient imaging center also provides a broad array of imaging services, including radiography, sonography, CT, and MRI. While residents do not rotate through this site, many exams are routed to GWUH for interpretation.

Children’s National Hospital: Among the nation’s top children’s hospitals, Children’s National has an internationally recognized team of pediatric health care professionals who care for more than 360,000 patients each year. It serves as the regional referral center for pediatric emergency, trauma, cancer, cardiac and critical care as well as neonatology, orthopedic surgery, neurology, and neurosurgery.  GW radiology residents perform their pediatric radiology rotations at Children’s National, working alongside GW faculty radiologists. (Children’s National physicians have GW faculty appointments.)

As the largest multi-specialty physician practice in Washington, DC, the MFA employs more than 750 physicians providing medical care in 51 specialty and subspecialty areas. The residency’s large volume and a broad array of pathology is supported by this health system.
